Get Your GED!

Get your GED with the following process:

Visit your local Pulaski County Adult Education Center to sign up and take the free TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education).

Based on your test results, you may go on to take the GED Ready® practice test, or may need to take up to 40 hours of coursework before taking the TABE test again

If you score a 535 or higher, you can obtain a voucher to cover the cost of the GED Ready® practice test.

You must take and pass the GED Ready® practice test with a score of 145 or better before scheduling your Official GED test. You may take one subject of the GED® Ready practice test then go on to take that subject of the official GED® test upon approval. All GED Ready® practice tests and Official GED tests must be taken at an approved adult education center or GED® test center.

The Official GED® test is now offered exclusively on computer and has four areas: reasoning through language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics. Each area costs $4 or $16 for all four areas. You will pay for the test online with a debit or credit card when you schedule your test. Scholarships may be available for those who qualify.

When a student passes all four parts of the Official GED® test, the Arkansas GED® Administrator will issue a diploma and transcript within 21 working days. Duplicate transcripts are available from ACE Adult Education, no charge. There’s no limit to how many times you can test in a year but, after taking a test subject three times, you must wait 60 days before retesting.
