
Pharmacy Technician is a growing field nationally as well as in the state of Arkansas. Pulaski County Adult Education now offers a rigorous 300 hour (mostly) online training program in conjunction with Aztec Online to prepare students for the Pharmacy Tech Certification Exam. This is available as a scholarship only program, valued at approximately $800 per person. Expected completion time is 2-3 months.
Student candidates need to demonstrate high academic function, time management skills, and self motivation.
Enrollment Process Overview:
For students to qualify for scholarships:
- Enroll into PCSSD Adult Education and meet with a Career Coach.
- Complete a TABE Test
- Complete the WAGE Level I Workforce Prep Level II Health Science Certifications.
- Post-Test on the TABE after 40 hours of instruction in math, reading, and language.
- Begin the Pharmacy Tech Training Program.
After completing the program, you will have the following credentials:
- Arkansas WAGE Workforce Prep Certificate
- Arkansas WAGE Health Science Certificate
- Heartsaver Certified (CPR)
- Registered with Arkansas Board of Pharmacy
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
