Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician is a growing field nationally as well as in the state of Arkansas. Pulaski County Adult Education now offers a rigorous 300 hour (mostly) online training program in conjunction with Aztec Online to prepare students for the Pharmacy Tech Certification Exam. This is available as a scholarship only program, valued at approximately $800 per person. Expected completion time is 2-3 months.

Student candidates need to demonstrate high academic function, time management skills, and self motivation.

Enrollment Process Overview:

For students to qualify for scholarships:

  1. Enroll into PCSSD Adult Education and meet with a Career Coach.
  2. Complete a TABE Test
  3. Complete the WAGE Level I Workforce Prep Level II Health Science Certifications.
  4. Post-Test on the TABE after 40 hours of instruction in math, reading, and language.
  5. Begin the Pharmacy Tech Training Program.

After completing the program, you will have the following credentials:

  • Arkansas WAGE Workforce Prep Certificate
  • Arkansas WAGE Health Science Certificate
  • Heartsaver Certified (CPR)
  • Registered with Arkansas Board of Pharmacy
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
